Compare when people can leave, not just when planes land
Two scheduled arrival times do not tell you when both parties will be ready for the car. Travelers still need to leave the aircraft, complete entry formalities, collect their bags and clear customs. One party may reach the meeting area while the other is waiting for luggage. An early landing does not guarantee an early exit.
Use each flight’s local arrival date and time to start the conversation, then ask whether a combined pickup is workable. There is no universal flight-gap rule that suits every group. A road estimate starts after the airport process; it cannot tell you how long the first party will wait for the second.
Landing time is not pickup readiness →Choose between waiting together and leaving separately
One vehicle may look simpler on paper. Separate pickups may be simpler on the day. Consider the people arriving first, whether anyone needs assistance and how everyone feels about waiting after a flight. Do not choose from a headline fare alone.
Compare complete quotes, the time involved and what happens if the flights stop lining up. The situations below are questions to discuss with the team, not rules guaranteeing that particular flights can be combined. Decide whether arriving together is worth the wait for your actual party.
| Your situation | What to consider |
|---|---|
| Flights close together; everyone accepts waiting | Ask whether one departure can be arranged and what waiting covers. |
| Flights several hours apart | Compare separate rides with the first party’s time spent waiting. |
| Children, tired travelers or assistance needs | Consider going directly to the accommodation. |
| Different accommodation | Request the full route, drop-offs and total. |
| A connection or uncertain revised flight | Discuss separate pickups and handling later changes. |
Agree where each party should meet
PUJ has Terminals A and B. Send each party’s flight details rather than assuming everyone will use the same terminal. Ask for instructions that fit the combined arrangement: where the first party should remain, who will contact them and when they should move. Avoid crossing terminals independently to look for the others.
A restaurant or lounge mentioned in a review is not a confirmed waiting arrangement. Check whether the suggested place is accessible after your arrival process and suitable for your people and bags. Do not assume a departure lounge is available to arriving passengers. Follow the latest instructions attached to your booking.
Check terminals and meeting instructions →Decide what happens if one flight is delayed
Ask whether the group will keep waiting if a flight changes or would prefer separate pickups if the original plan becomes impractical. Have the team confirm what can be arranged, what agreed waiting covers and whether a change affects availability or price. One combined booking does not automatically reserve two departures.
Nominate one coordinator, with a reachable contact traveling in each party. If someone is rebooked, send the new flight number, local date, time and airport, not only “we’re delayed.” Telling friends to leave first does not arrange the remaining travelers’ ride. Wait for confirmation of the revised plan.
Update a changed flight →Put the flight comparison into a real example
Imagine two couples staying at one hotel, with scheduled arrivals at 13:10 and 14:00 on the same local date. That 50-minute landing gap does not promise a 50-minute wait. Either flight, entry checks or baggage collection could change when the parties are ready. If everyone accepts the wait and the provider confirms the arrangement, one departure may work.
Now imagine the second flight arrives at 18:30 instead. The first couple should compare going directly to the hotel with spending much of the afternoon waiting. Separate rides may be more comfortable. These times are illustrative, not actual flight schedules or recommended waiting limits. Choose the arrangement your group is prepared to accept.
Count the whole group—and the whole route
For a combined departure, declare everyone traveling in the vehicle and all luggage: children, large cases, strollers, golf bags and other bulky items. For separate pickups, list the load for each journey. Request child seats with each child’s age and weight, and confirm suitability, availability and the charge for the relevant ride.
A seat request for one pickup does not automatically cover another vehicle. If travelers stay at different properties, name every address and entrance. Ask whether drop-offs can be combined and get the complete route and total confirmed. Another hotel is not automatically included because it is nearby.
Prepare the group and luggage list →Compare complete quotes before choosing
Ask for a quote for one combined departure, including agreed waiting and drop-offs, and another for separate pickups with passengers assigned to each. Identify equipment and other requirements, and ask how a change would be handled if a party cannot make the combined departure.
PUJ RIDE’s published airport prices are per vehicle, one way, with taxes included. A multi-flight arrangement still needs confirmation of the journeys and total; one ordinary form estimate does not establish several departures. Plan the return separately too: arriving together does not mean everyone flies home together.
Ask about group transfers →Send one request the team can actually quote
You can write: “We arrive on different flights at PUJ. Party A: [names, passenger count, flight, local date and time]. Party B: [same details]. Accommodation for each: [full name and address]. Luggage and requirements per party: [bags, children’s ages, seats]. Please compare one combined departure with separate pickups and confirm meeting instructions, waiting and what happens if a flight changes.”
Add the lead contact and a reachable number in the other party. Save the confirmed quote, flight list and instructions where everyone can open them. Check that each party understands the chosen arrangement. You do not have to reach the hotel in the same vehicle to start the holiday together.
Before confirming the pickups
- List every flight with its local arrival date and time.
- Choose a combined departure or separate pickups explicitly.
- Confirm meeting instructions for each arriving party.
- Agree what happens if a flight changes and what waiting covers.
- Declare passengers, bags, seats and every destination per ride.
- Save the quote and share the plan with both parties.
Different flights. One clear plan.
Send PUJ RIDE every arrival flight, accommodation and each party’s luggage and seat requirements. Ask for the available pickup options and complete quotes before reserving.
